The Sunflower (series)

This sunflower is painted on paper and here again texture is what it's all about. Very much inspired by Guy's paintings of flowers. It also derives from my development of the textured frames. For those who have been in the studio you will know what I am referring to.

Divine Daisies

This piece is much bigger than the previous 24"x30". It is inspired both by live wild daisies and by my husband "February Still Life" painting. It can be seen at
The Making of a Guy Stevens Painting Blog
His painting was named later "Heavenly Daisies". Anyway it sold so quickly, it inspired me.

The Daisy Series

This Spring I was all about Daisies. There was a wild daisy field growing near our house.
It just brought me back to my childhood. I've always adored wild flowers. So this piece is all about them. I painted with acrylics from live flowers I placed in a vase. I used a lot of texture. What fun!

The Sunflower

This piece is from a series of small paintings on paper. For some reason I love working on paper. This piece is heavily textured. It shows promise towards larger work.

Still life with Red

This is one of my favorites thus far. Lots of Layering. I am attempting a new piece like this one. I hope it turns out well. I will post the end result soon.

Heart of Heart

This is a February Study. Acrylic on canvas.

Nine Squares

This piece is painted on paper and is framed in one of my hand painted and textured frame. It's hard to do justice to the item under glass in a photograph, so I am only showing the painting here.
It was painted in 2008.
(Sold March 8, 2010)

Abstrait avec Cresson de Lune

Earlier this year I have been playing with shapes of paper that I mounted on boards or canvas. I think they're interesting. (Sold December 2009)

A renewed commitment to painting

Even though I have painted and sold close to 700 frames in my short professional career, I have done less than 60 paintings, most of them small, and of those sold about thirty . It's high time I get serious about this art form which gives me great fulfillment.

So this is my first post and a promise to myself to paint and develop my art so much more.
